Spring has sprung and the Easter bunny is on his way! If you’re planning to teach about Easter this year, or you want to add a sprinkle of Easter to your lessons, then try out these Easter dominoes.
Something I really like about Easter is that there are lots of different traditions and history behind it. You also have the possibility of teaching about the religious signification behind it and comparing Easter and its practices with what is celebrated in other religions.
Of course, if you’re feeling generous, you could set up an Easter egg hunt for your pupils. Or simply give them some chocolate eggs at the end of the lesson! Pupils are always happy when chocolate is involved.
How to play
Just like my other dominoes, such as these Valentine’s Day ones, you can use them in various ways.
These Easter dominoes can be played alone or with classmates and they can be used to introduce vocabulary or to consolidate it.
Something that could be fun could be to mix together two sets of different seasonal dominoes and to have the pupils match them all up. This would up the difficulty!
You could equally stick them up around your classroom or make an Easter display board with them around the edge.
The main aim of these dominoes is to get pupils learning new vocabulary in a fun way.
Once the dominoes are complete, pupils could write sentences using the new vocabulary or even a story.
The possibilities are definitely endless with games such as dominoes once you think outside the box!
Let me know if you have any fun Easter-themed activities planned for your classes.
