What better way to start off an Easter lesson than with some Easter Egg English Nouns Magic Colouring? Kids of all ages love colouring but when in lessons, the best type of colouring is educational colouring.
My aim was to create resources for my pupils that made learning English grammar fun. One of the hardest parts of grammar is learning about the word types. This led me to create a series of colouring activities based on different parts of a sentence that would help pupils learn whilst having fun.
How does it work?
This particular magic colouring is to do with English nouns. Pupils are each given an Easter Egg that is filled with different categories of nouns e.g. people, animals, places etc. The aim is help pupils categorise these nouns and it also might lead to them learning new vocabulary.
Using the key provided at the bottom of the sheet, pupils have to colour in the part of the Easter Egg surrounding each word with the corresponding colour.
At the end, each pupil will have a brightly coloured Easter Egg. Hopefully they will have learnt how to recognise nouns in English!
There is equally an element of self-correction involved since each pupil should have the same colours on their Easter Egg at the end. If a child ends up with different colours, then the teacher is able to identify the pupil as needing more help recognising English nouns.
