The last time I did a post like this was in 2023. Looking back at it now, I did actually achieve all of those goals but in 2024 rather than in 2023. Better late than never I suppose! Now it’s time to talk about my goals for 2025.
Over the past year, I’ve learned that I have time to do things if I make time for them. The biggest one being posting on this blog. I really wanted to get back into writing, but I always felt like I lacked the time to post regularly. So, I decided to make writing a blog post a priority on a Sunday and for the moment I’m continuing to stick to my weekly schedule.
The biggest contributor to me finding and making more time is installing an app that blocks all social media for certain time blocks. It’s crazy now to see how much time I was wasting scrolling away on TikTok and Instagram. I feel so much better about life in general now that I have drastically limited my social media time.
I’m hoping that with my regained hours of time I can use them to work towards my goals for 2025.

Travel more
I was lucky enough to travel quite a bit in 2024 and I visited 5 new countries. But the travel bug only grows stronger and I would love to travel further afield in 2025. I also want to hit 30 countries before my 30th birthday so I’ve already started planning some trips. Potential destinations include Ireland, New York City, Munich in Germany, and Estonia!

Learn a second foreign language
I have dabbled in multiple foreign languages over the years, alongside French, but never made much progress. Now that I speak one foreign language fluently, I’d love to add another one to the collection! The most logical language for me to learn would be German as I wish to teach in a trilingual international school. I also studied it for two years back in Secondary School so it’s not completely new. I’ve started putting a plan together for how I can learn it, mostly via self-study, with the goal of reaching B1 by the end of 2025.

Move house!
I have been wanting to move house for the past few years but it either hasn’t felt like the right time or I haven’t found what I want. I finally have found somewhere and I hope to move as soon as possible! It’s just a matter of confirming dates. I feel like this house move will bring with it a whole lot of new changes which is exciting. I can’t wait to see how 2025 will pan out once I’m settled somewhere new!

Read 30 books
My goal for 2024 was to read 30 books. This was a bit of a step up after my previous goals of 10 and 20 books. However, in 2024 I made reading a priority and I managed to achieve my goal of reading 30 books. I rediscovered my love for reading and enjoyed it more than scrolling mindlessly on my phone. So I would like to read another 30 books in 2025.

Exercise regularly
In 2025, I would really like to prioritise my health. I have started this process with small, manageable changes already but I’d really like to continue this by really committing to exercising regularly. I love exercise, of most types, but I find it hard to stick with it if I’m not in a club or doing it with friends. However, in 2025 my hope is to find a way to exercise 3-4 times a week as I know that it will have a really positive impact on my wellbeing.
I have other goals and things I’d like to achieve in 2025. But I think it’s important to have a few that you stick to and actually achieve. So these are the five goals I hope to reach by the end of 2025. I’m excited to get started on them and see how much progress I can make in a year. I know that if I keep limiting my social media time, achieving these and more will definitely be possible.
